Rock Forward Update: July 2016

Rock Forward had an amazing weekend in Pennsylvania, with Patrick and Chanai Mokokoro. Patrick is the founder of NHAKA foundation and shared with multiple groups, including the Kauffman Church and the youth groups in the area. What a joy it was to invest in the fund raiser to purchase a motorcycle for Pastor Zachie to travel from school to school, teaching the gospel and way of Jesus Christ. The after school Bible program is exploding with the hunger and thirst of these beautiful children. A huge THANK YOU to Patrick and Chanai and to Amy Yoder and family, for hosting them. Teresa and Rob Wolf coordinated all of the youth events, which were also so powerful! Olivia Yoder shared about how to “Stand up and Stand out” for Jesus and how that looks in the life of a teen ager! Patrick and Chanai, experienced Dunkin Donuts, Five Below, TJMax, an American cook out with Chops and Steaks, the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania, kayaking in the beautiful waters, and the great fellowship of friends and supporters! God is so so great and showed himself in the generosity of His people and the love that overflows within them. The Archbold Evangelical church’s VBS collected monies for our flannel board story telling ministry at NHAKA. Faith Rupp shared each night, about the story telling in Africa. The children were very excited to be a part of this ministry and many expressed a desire to go to Africa! Some said that they would like to learn the Bible stories using this method here in the USA! Who knows….maybe we will need to bring back the famous, tried and true method of flannel board teaching!! The message of Jesus is being taught and a relationship with Him, is the goal for each of these young leaders in the beautiful African culture. What a joy to be a part of that! Thank you for your contribution, in prayer and financial support.

Rock Forward is pressing forward with mentoring, discipling, and funding the fruitfulness of the Savings Groups model. We are working through another cash crisis in Zimbabwe, which makes it a challenge to keep money flowing into the existing and new groups that are being trained and formed. God is there and in control already, so we are trusting in His amazing ways and will continue to move. For each $3000 that is donated, a Savings group of approximately 10 Africans have opportunity to have work and support their families. Each group feeds approximately 10-15 orphans and impacts 100 lives. Please talk to any of our team members if you have interest in helping with support in this area. It has been extremely successful with 100% payback of the microloans that are distributed as needed to each group. The training and accountability that is given to these groups, is priceless and points them to Jesus and the way He would want them to operate a business for His Kingdom. The trainers on the ground in Zim, are amazing and are truly making an eternal impact. We are so thankful for them and love them dearly.

Jeff and Rebecca Smith are home on North American assignment. They are doing wonderful and continue to feel sorry for anyone that is not them! They love their home in Zim and will be ready to go back in October, Lord willing. Rebecca continues to mentor and teach young women, the skills of sewing. Jeff is mentoring the men on the grounds at the Bible College as well as heading up many projects there on the grounds. They are now seeing family and friends and fund raising for their next term as well as the projects that they will work on when they get back. Please chat with them about the goodness of God, when you see them. They have such a testimony.
Tendai, our main contact on the ground in Zimbabwe, has a daughter that has been severely burned. She has been in the hospital for eight weeks now and is getting skin grafting done currently. This has been extremely difficult for our very dear friend, and we ask you to join in prayer for him and his family. And for healing for his little 18 month old daughter. Thank you again for all of your support and concern for this ministry and mission. As always, you can make any donation or contribution to our 501c3, Rock Forward, LLC, and send it to 203 E Lugbill Rd, Archbold, Oh. Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment as God leads onward.

Love and Blessings, Rock Forward Team
